Nanumba South District Assembly Supports Persons with Disabilities

The Nanumba South District Assembly has disbursed GH¢665,952.74 from the Persons with Disabilities Fund to beneficiaries across the district.

Speaking at the ceremony in Wulensi, the District Chief Executive, Hon. Musah Abdul-Rashid, said the support is aimed at improving the livelihoods and economic independence of persons with disabilities. The beneficiaries include people receiving support for businesses, animal rearing, education, healthcare and productive equipment, including sewing machines and refrigerators.

The DCE urged beneficiaries to use the support for its intended purpose and assured them of the Assembly’s continued commitment to their welfare. The DCE also presented GH¢26,995 to the Psychiatric Health Unit, received by the Head of Department, Ben Salam, to support the unit’s activities
